Each lesson involves reading and practicing a specific set of sight words multiple times throughout the day. Subsequently, the child reads a story containing only the words from that lesson or previous ones.
Children have the flexibility to advance through lessons at their own pace. If they encounter unfamiliar words, they can click on them for pronunciation and repetition before mastering them. It is recommended to establish a consistent practice schedule, for example, during breakfast, lunch, and dinner times. Once proficient with the words, children can confidently read the story aloud and also listen to it being narrated.
There are over fifty progressive lessons that build upon previously learned words, eventually enabling children to read introductory books like Dr. Seuss's "Green Eggs and Ham." The sight words and stories are sourced from the McGuffey Eclectic Primer but have been updated for modern learning.
Prior to commencing this program, children should have a solid grasp of the alphabet, including letter recognition, names, and basic sound associations.
